Route 8 south from Winsted gets you to George's Music Center in about 15 minutes.
For Winsted players there are guitars and basses on the wall, amps to plug into, kits and cymbals on the drum floor, and pro audio for the band or the church. If it isn't on the wall, ask, and we'll tell you what we can order.
Band and orchestra families at Pearson Middle School can rent instruments here on a rent-to-own plan, and the repair bench keeps them playing through the school year.
Private lessons happen downstairs, 30 minutes a week, for kids and adults on guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, brass, band instruments and strings. Five teachers share five private rooms, with a waiting area for whoever drove.

About 15 minutes down Route 8 from Winsted, then Route 4 on the east side of Torrington. The store is in the Eastside Commons plaza.
